It was now May 14, 2023 Kathrina and I went to visit my brother and mother at her house. My mother opened the garage and there sat the Hako. I couldn’t believe it was finally in front of me. Off the batt I noticed the hood was popped open and the hood latch was broken so I was afraid that if I closed the hood it would get stuck so I wedged the latch with a piece of cardboard to prevent it from shutting. The horn pad and rear view mirror was sitting on the floor; kind of odd but oh well. Other than that it visually looked as I expected. We decided to see if the car would run. We poured 2 gallons of 91 octane fuel (in Australia the Hako took 93 octane) and jump started it. It took more than 20 cranks to finally get it to turn. It was definitely having trouble starting.

While the car was running Kathrina and I decided to take it around the block to get it moving. Unfortunately once we got to the end of the street the car completely died and wouldn’t start up again. We pushed it down the street and back into the garage where the Hako sat for another two and half months.
During this time I was still working on my health and Kathrina and I started to clear some space in our garage to fit a second car next to the STI. On July 31, 2023 we called a tow truck and towed her home. (I’m going to start to refer to the Hako as a female because she doesn’t have a name yet from now on)

And there she sat for another year untouched and collecting dust…
